Last week was a whirlwind week…busy with a card class and a Stampin’ Up! Open House so my blog posts were on hold.  Probably a bigger factor was recouping from my grandson’s visit the previous week!  We did go fishing and I’ll share our tales in the near future.  In the meantime, no sure if you have looked lately but flamingos are popular again and are everywhere.  I’ve seen clothing with flamingo prints, home furnishings with flamingos and more.  Below is a photo of a plant holder that I received as a gift this past Christmas…guess my friend was “in the know”.  It is so cute in our yard!  As always, Stampin’ Up! is on trend with the Pop of Paradise stamp set which includes both a flamingo and a pineapple (another trend this year).
For a recent card swap, I decided to use the flamingo from the Pop of Paradise set to create my swaps. Since the swap required we use new products, I used Emerald Envy card stock for the base, Playful Palette Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Sweet Sugarplum ink for the design.  To add a touch of gold glitter, I used the gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to brush gold glitter onto the small splatter stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set before stamping onto the Emerald Envy card base.
