Happy Halloween! Before getting to the gift bag project, I want to share the Halloween card that I received in the mail this week from one of my stamping friends and class attendee, Jamie.  It was a nice surprise and reminds me how important it is to mail cards we make to friends and family.  It’s a simple, thoughtful act that brings joy to recipients and can make one’s day brighter.  Thank you Jamie!

In the Nutty Note Card class earlier this week, an add on project was made…an embellished Petite Cafe gift bag. Personally, I adore these gift bags!  They are food safe, sturdy and a perfect size.  For the embellishment, we used the extra leaves that I had from the Witching Decor project kit but the same leaves can be cut from card stock using the Leaflets Framelits .  The leaves were stamped using the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set and sponged around the edges with ink.  To create the look of a Fall leaf, we crumpled the leaves and unfolded them which created more texture and naturally, a bit of glamour was added using a leaf cut from gold glimmer paper.  An acorn tag from the Acorny Thank You stamp set finished the look.  The embellishment took just a few minutes to create but “dresses” the gift bag perfectly!
