Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!  It was a busy week for me that started on Monday with the monthly stamp class, followed by a two day golf tournament and next thing I know, it’s Saturday!  Most importantly, I am taking time to share cards from the Monday class.  It was scheduled as a Stamp-a-Stack but it was truly a “stamp-a-thon!” The participants made fifteen cards in the afternoon, a lot of work, but also lots of fun and everyone took home a stack of beautiful cards to have available when needed.  There were three themed sets and five cards from each theme were made to complete the fifteen card set. Today I’m showcasing two of the cards that utilized the Moon Lake stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  They are perfect for creating a masculine card design.

The first uses a design that was shared on Pinterest by several others and since I’m not sure who originated it, I prefer not to name one specific designer.  I liked the way they created the note page  behind the stamped image by using the Spiral Border punch.  I changed up their design by stamping the image and using the Circles Collection Framelits to cut the image versus keeping it rectangular.  The background layer is from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack.  When this paper stack was first released, I was “on the fence” as to whether to purchase it but am glad that I did…it’s been very versatile and provides a great backdrop to many cards.  Notice also how the Gorgeous Grunge stamp helps highlight the bird image!

Also, mustn’t forget to stamp the card interior…a corner edge is the perfect location as it still provides lots of room for a stamped sentiment and handwritten message!

Below is another of the Moon Lake stamp set images. To create the water/sky effect, the large “swish” from the Work of Art stamp set was used to stamp with Soft Sky ink.  It’s achieved by inking stamp and stamping several times in succession without re-inking your stamp.  The background layer is another designer paper from the Adventure Bound paper stack.  The wide White Jute Ribbon worked perfect to add a little bit of extra texture to the card.

The remaining cards from the “Nature Theme Series” will be shared on Monday, as well as, the materials used.
