Happy Easter Gift Tags

Today’s product features Happy Easter Gift Tags that came about by sorting through products on the shelves in my stamp room.  Have you ever wanted to make a project only to realize you did not have a stamp set with the sentiment or images for the theme? That’s exactly what happened to me when deciding to create an Easter project – no bunnies, no chicks, no Happy Easter sentiment stamps.   So, it was time to get inventive and creative with products that I had available!  After some searching, I was able to create a sentiment using word dies and found stamp sets that could fit the theme.  Plus, scraps of cardstock were used for most of the project which is always a win-win. What do you think of the “outside the box” ideas for Easter themed gift tags?

  3. Next, stamp one hen and two chick images onto scraps of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad.
    • Color the hen using the following Stampin’ Blends: body – Daffodil Delight Light & Dark, beak – Pumpkin Pie Dark, Comb & Wattle – Poppy Parade Light.

  5. Use coordinating dies from the Birthday Chick Dies to die cut the stamped hen/chick images and the fence from a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock.
  6. With the Birds & More Dies, cut the stamped birds nest and and 3 eggs from a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock.
  7. Use a sponge dauber to lightly apply Sahara Sand to the edges of each of the die cut eggs.
  8. OPTIONAL: using Blending Brushes, color a sky using Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Pad and color grass using Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pad.
Assembly of tags:
    • For the Hen/Chick tag: Add the Happy Easter to the top section of the tag leaving room for the hen. Next, attach the fence to the lower portion of the tag.  Finish by adding the Hen and Chick with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • For the Chick/eggs in nest tag: Add the Happy Easter to the top section of the tag. Adhere the nest to the bottom of the tag leaving a gap at the top to insert the eggs.  Then, trim the overhanging section of the nest so that sides and bottom are even with the tag.  Insert the eggs into the next using Mini Glue Dots to hold in place.  Complete by adding the chick with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Honeybee Home Gift Tag

Earlier this week, the Playtime with Paper team met for our quarterly meeting.  Part of the meeting focused on practicing different coloring techniques.  One technique was to use Blender Pens with ink pads for coloring and shading.  The Honeybee Home gift tag was the end product.   When learning to color with Blender Pens, I recommend selecting a simple design and limiting the number of ink colors.  This helps prevent becoming overwhelmed! By using the elements from the Honeybee Home Stamp Set, it was easy to practice coloring and shading.  And since I am a fan of making gift tags, using the Tailor Made Tags to cut a base for the images made it a quick project to complete.  Below is the list of materials and a video with coloring tips plus tag assembly.

Christmas in July 2021-Poinsettia Gift Tags

It’s the second week of Christmas in July 2021 and today features Poinsettia Gift Tags.   Last holiday season, I saw Poinsettia Gift tags created by other demonstrators and made a mental note to use the set for gift tags in the future. So this year, I am making Poinsettia gift tags for some of my holiday packages.  The Poinsettia Dies are perfect for creating the poinsettia embellishment for the tags.  The first tag is a poinsettia gift tag design using non-traditional Christmas colors.  The 2021-2023 In Colors are some of my favorite colors and so I selected Polished Pink for the poinsettia.  It will be perfect to for use this Christmas on one of my granddaughter’s gifts.  In addition, I’m sharing another poinsettia gift tag using stamped poinsettia layers which are cut with the coordinating dies.  The color scheme is more subtle (crumb cake on very vanilla cardstock).

Sweet As A Peach Gift Tag

As mentioned in my last post, I am enjoying using the Sweet As A Peach bundle.  In addition to last week’s card and others to share, I have a quick and easy gift tag featuring the Sweet As A Peach Bundle.  Not only does it feature the stamp set, it also highlights the beautiful You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper and the Tailor Made Tags Dies.  Trust me, you’re going to want to add the tags dies to your “must have” list!  The dies include two tag shapes in three sizes so you’ll have the ability to make tags for a variety of package sizes.

Gift Tag

Creating the Sweet As A Peach Gift Tag:
  • Using one of the largest tag dies from the Tailor Made Tags Dies, cut one tag from Pale Papaya cardstock.  Cut another tag from the You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper.  Align the tag tops and overlap the designer series paper tag. Adhere the tags together using a glue dot to hold the designer series paper in place.
  • On a scrap of Basic White cardstock, stamp the sentiment from the Sweet As A Peach stamp set using Pale Papaya Classic Ink Pad.  After stamping, cut shape using the Tasteful Labels Dies (or a die shape of your choice).
  • Embellish the sentiment by stamping the small leaves (from the Sweet As A Peach Stamp Set) using Pear Pizzazz.  Color Basic Rhinestone Jewels with Dark Calypso Coral Blends and add to the leaves.
  • Add the sentiment to the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

You can use the gift tag on a variety of packages.  As you see in the photo, a 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ acetate card box is filled with treats.  Pale Papaya & White Ribbon is wrapped around the box and before tying the bow, a strip of Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon and a strip of White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon are added.  The Sweet As A Peach gift tag is inserted under the bow and attached to the box with glue dots.

Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing more “peach themed” projects.
