Today I am using the Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils for coloring the gorgeous large camellia in the Calming Camellia Stamp Set. With this exclusive stamp set, you can use just one ink color and create a simple but beautiful card. However, it’s easy to add multiple colors using the Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils. Even though I am using the watercolor pencils, no water is necessary. Be sure to watch to the video below showing how simple and quick it is to color the stamped image. Warning though – once you start coloring, you’ll not want to stop!

In my last post, I shared with you “the must have stamp bundle”. As promised, in this post, I am sharing four cards using the Many Messages bundle. You’ll notice from the cards that one uses designer series paper that is no longer available. How many times have you started a card design only to set it aside to complete later? That’s the case with the card with the Butterfly Bijou designer series paper. But that’s what’s wonderful about the Many Messages bundle! You can design card fronts, set them aside and then add a sentiment from Many Messages at a later time. Actually, all of the cards that I’m sharing are designs that were prepared without a specific sentiment planned. I assembled the fronts, set aside the embellishment pieces and later completed the cards by selecting precut Many Messages sentiments. Remember, there are 17 different sentiments that you can use…I’m only showing four!
Great news! The Many Messages bundle is in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog so it’ll be around for awhile. Even better, there’s another stamp of sentiments that coordinates with the same die in the new catalog. Mark your calendar, ordering from the new catalog begins on May 4, 2021!
JUST A REMINDER…
The current catalog is retiring on May 3, 2021 (next week!) so that means the final days of the Last-Chance Products Sale is winding down. Several bundles are retiring but will be available individually without the additional bundle savings in the catalog. Looking for a fun project? These cork Snowman Drink Coasters feature the Spirited Snowmen and are fun to make. Plus if you’re looking for a quick, inexpensive gift you can make a set and package them in less than 30 minutes! You can find the cork coasters in craft stores or online. I was able to purchase them from Widget.com last year and it is great that a variety of thicknesses are available for purchase. Since the coasters have been on the shelf in my craft room, it was time to use them for a project. (How many times have you purchased supplies for a project only to let the items sit idle?!) I knew the Spirited Snowman stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog would be the perfect stamp set to use on the coasters.
The snowmen are appropriate to use not just for Christmas but for the entire winter season. I have made several sets and the cork coasters work great to protect my wood furniture from hot and cold beverages.
Stamping Tip:
To ensure a good stamped impression, I suggest using the Stamparatus. It also allows you to stamp two images at the same time. I did not use the magnets to hold the drink coasters in place and was careful to not move the drink coasters until after stamping using Stazon Jet Black ink. To receive a clear impression, I found it necessary to ink and stamp the image twice.
Coloring Tips:
Select a variety of Stampin’ Blends to color desired areas of the snowmen. To avoid smearing of the Stazon Jet Black ink, color just up to the edge and avoid coloring over the black ink. Allow the inks to dry for 5-10 minutes, otherwise they can smear. After drying, the ink is permanent. In the small detail areas, it is best to stipple with the point end of the Stampin’ Blend versus coloring with a back and forth motion. Note – when stamping, it is not recommended to use Stazon with Stampin’ Blends but for this project waterproof ink is needed so practice careful coloring techniques.
Have fun creating your own Spirited Snowmen drink coasters!
Exciting Stamparatus News of the day is that Stampin’ Up! has released some great accessories to help enhance your Stamparatus experience. There is now Grid Paper that fits perfectly in the Stamparatus. They also have the Foam Mat and Plates sold separately now. Each of these accessories come in very handy when you need them. Take a look at everything that is now available for you to enjoy and have even more fun with.
I personally love my Stamparatus because it helps keep everything aligned on my card. Another great feature is that is allows for adding a little more creativity with images and spacing. Therefore, you can create layers of images and an array of colors. It’s so much fun and would probably keep me in my stamp room for hours if I let it. If you don’t have a Stamparatus yet, you can pick one up in my online store here. If you have a Stamparatus, visit my store here for these new accessories. Let me know if you have any questions about this tool, or the accessories. I’m happy to help.
I told you I had exciting Stamparatus news for you. It’s always great to get new accessories for our tools and these add another reason to get your Stamparatus out and start stamping.
Remember, my 12 Weeks of Christmas started last week and if you want to get in on the weeks of holiday creativity, all you have to do is sign up for my 12 Weeks of Christmas weekly newsletter. The first one went out last week and I am having a wonderful time creating these special projects for my newsletter subscribers. There is still time to enjoy all the inspiration.
It’s that time of year again, the New Catalog is here!
The new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog will be live today at 12noon MT, which means at 2:00pm here on the east coast you can start placing your orders. I know you cannot wait to see everything the new catalog has in store. It’s Stampin’ Up!’s 30th anniversary and it shows in all the beautiful new products. One of the most anticipated products is the Stamparatus. If you were not able to get it during the pre-order a few months ago, you can order it now. Here is a brief video from Stampin’ Up! with more information about the Stamparatus:
You Can Now Get the Stamparatus
In addition, I want to share with you a sample card below that was created using the Stamparatus. This great tool is a much needed addition to my craft room, and I’m sure you will think so too. What a pleasant experience to stamp with such precision. As a result, you will be able to take you stamping to the next level. Since you control where you place the stamps, you can also control the pressure used to stamp the image. There is a rubber mat to use with Photopolymer stamps as well.
Notice the greeting in the bottom corner stamped on each side. What I like most of all is the ability to line up all my stamps on the cardstock. Whether it’s inside the card or outside the card, having everything line up gives the card a crisp look. The design of the Stamparatus allows you to use any size cardstock. This makes it possible to use it with scrapbooking as well as card making.
Grab your favorite coffee or tea and sink into your favorite chair while you explore all the wonderful new products. Let me know if I can be of any assistance as you create that wish list.
