Earlier this week, the Playtime with Paper team had our quarterly Stampin’ Up! meeting. The meetings are lots of fun and include learning new techniques or projects. Box making using the Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper was one of the technique projects from this week’s meeting. The Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper is a Sale-a-Bration brochure product and can be selected for FREE with a $50 Stampin’ Up! purchase. The designer series paper is gorgeous and coordinates with the Fragrant Flowers Bundle in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog. Even better, some of the Fragrant Flowers Dies coordinate with the paper so no fussy cutting!
If you want to save on your paper crafting products and become a member of my Playtime with Paper team, now is a great time to join Stampin’ Up! Contact me for more details on becoming an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. Or check out the Sale-a-bration promotion video below for information on the exclusive deals being offered through February 28th. I would love to have you join my Playtime with Paper team!
Box and Embellishment Project Materials:

Basic Black Cardstock (discontinued): 12″ x 12″; cut a sliver of cardstock (approx. 1/16″) from two adjoining sides of the cardstock. Next score at 2-1/2″ on all sides. NOTE: Since the Basic Black Cardstock is no longer available in a 12″ x 12″ size, I recommend substituting with colors from the 2021-2023 In Color 12″ x 12″ pack (either the Fresh Freesia or Evening Evergreen) or Regals 12″ x 12″ Cardstock (Old Olive).
Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper: 10-1/2″ x 10-1/2″; score at 1-3/4″ on all sides

If you are interested in creating custom square and rectangle boxes, I recommend the following video from the Stampin’ Up! Training Team: https://youtu.be/_zi95NGr850 (Fast forward through the first two minutes to get to the box instructions.) After watching the steps for making a box, two formulas for calculating cardstock/designer series paper and box sizes are provided.

Other news:
Stampin’ Up! recently announced that the paper plant manufacturing our Whisper White products had to permanently close due to COVID. While it’s sad that another company has fallen victim to the pandemic, Stampin’ Up! searched and located a manufacturer with paper standards that work beautifully with Stampin’ Up! inks and blends. The result is a product name change (no longer Whisper White but Basic White) and new product numbers. Below is the list of new Basic White Products and item numbers:
BASIC WHITE 8-1/2″ X 11″ CARDSTOCK (159276)
BASIC WHITE 8-1/2″ X 11″ THICK CARDSTOCK (159229)
BASIC WHITE 12″ X 12″ (30.5 X 30.5 CM) CARDSTOCK (159231)

With Sale-a-Bration ending soon, I would like to share one of my favorite Sale-a-Bration products from the catalog. The By the Bay stamp set is a beautiful stamp set for creating the most lovely Summer paradise cards. Just look at the images, close your eyes and imagine the beach, the water, and the waves. It’s a great image in our mind right? So why not make it an image you can look at often?
Not only are the images beautiful but they are lots of fun to color. For the card below, I used Shimmery White Cardstock for stamping the image onto and my Aqua Painter to color the image. I find it relaxing to sit and color. Even better is that I have never been brave enough to paint the front door of my house red, so I was able to fulfill my urge when coloring the door on the stamped image! The colors used for this project are listed under the Project Materials.
One of the cards below that you can see in the catalog also highlights what could be a beautiful sunset. I love the birds on the other card and soft coloring. Nothing but serenity when you look at these images.
So did you pick up this stamp set during Sale-a-Bration? If you didn’t, you still have time. Visit my online store today.
Creating projects that have a special place in your heart is always fun. I love the Tea Together stamp set and coordinating Tea Time Framelits with it. Tea time with family and friends is always a special time. Why not put those memories into your cards. It’s even better when you can earn the Framelits from the Sale-a-Bration catalog. The stamp set is available in the Occasions Catalog. I love that there are coordinating products you can earn for free. You can see Chad below show you the Tea Time Framelits Dies and a few samples made with them.
The Tea Time Framelits Dies includes the nine framelits shown below.
You can visit my online store here and pick up the framelits with a qualifying order through March 31st.
