Earlier this week, the Playtime with Paper team met for our quarterly meeting. Part of the meeting focused on practicing different coloring techniques. One technique was to use Blender Pens with ink pads for coloring and shading. The Honeybee Home gift tag was the end product. When learning to color with Blender Pens, I recommend selecting a simple design and limiting the number of ink colors. This helps prevent becoming overwhelmed! By using the elements from the Honeybee Home Stamp Set, it was easy to practice coloring and shading. And since I am a fan of making gift tags, using the Tailor Made Tags to cut a base for the images made it a quick project to complete. Below is the list of materials and a video with coloring tips plus tag assembly.
Here’s another option for the gift tag…add it to the front of a note card.

This cute Elf Christmas Gift Tag uses the Delicate Baubles Dies. The idea for creating an elf using the dies is from Connie Babbert at www.inkspiredtreasures.com. She has an array of cards using the dies for holiday characters. When I saw the elf on the card she created, I knew it would make a cute gift tag. Just so you know – the Delicate Baubles Dies are on the Last Chance List and will be retiring soon so don’t hesitate, place your order ASAP. In the video below I show you how easy and fun it is to create a gift tag using the dies.
Materials for the Elf Gift Tag:
Delicate Baubles Dies (use arabesque shape)
Granny Apple Green Cardstock 3” x 8-1/2”, score & fold at 4-1/4”
3 stripes of 1/8”Real Red cardstock, scrap of Real Red cardstock for collar
Gold Foil (scrap)
Ornate Frames Dies
Basic Black 1/2” x 3-1/4” & 1/2” x 3/4”
Champagne Rhinestones
Gold Ribbon
Hole Punch

Now, you know how easy it is to recreate the Elf Christmas gift tag. I made several elf tags to embellish gifts under this year’s Christmas tree.
My next post will also feature more gift tags using the Delicate Baubles Dies. Remember, the dies are retiring soon so place your order for the dies while the dies are still available.

As mentioned in my last post, I am enjoying using the Sweet As A Peach bundle. In addition to last week’s card and others to share, I have a quick and easy gift tag featuring the Sweet As A Peach Bundle. Not only does it feature the stamp set, it also highlights the beautiful You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper and the Tailor Made Tags Dies. Trust me, you’re going to want to add the tags dies to your “must have” list! The dies include two tag shapes in three sizes so you’ll have the ability to make tags for a variety of package sizes.
Creating the Sweet As A Peach Gift Tag:
Using one of the largest tag dies from the Tailor Made Tags Dies, cut one tag from Pale Papaya cardstock. Cut another tag from the You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper. Align the tag tops and overlap the designer series paper tag. Adhere the tags together using a glue dot to hold the designer series paper in place.
On a scrap of Basic White cardstock, stamp the sentiment from the Sweet As A Peach stamp set using Pale Papaya Classic Ink Pad. After stamping, cut shape using the Tasteful Labels Dies (or a die shape of your choice).
Embellish the sentiment by stamping the small leaves (from the Sweet As A Peach Stamp Set) using Pear Pizzazz. Color Basic Rhinestone Jewels with Dark Calypso Coral Blends and add to the leaves.
Add the sentiment to the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
You can use the gift tag on a variety of packages. As you see in the photo, a 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ acetate card box is filled with treats. Pale Papaya & White Ribbon is wrapped around the box and before tying the bow, a strip of Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon and a strip of White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon are added. The Sweet As A Peach gift tag is inserted under the bow and attached to the box with glue dots.
Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing more “peach themed” projects.
Time is running out on the Connect, Craft & Collect Promotion. For orders of $250 or more, you’ll receive an additional $25 in rewards. But hurry, the promotion ends on June 14, 2021.

In this month’s class, one of the projects created is a Tulip Gift Bag and coordinating tag. I love it when there is a designer series paper that coordinates with a stamp set and either dies or as with the Timeless Tulips Bundle, a punch. The bag uses the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper, which is from of the Coordination Product Release. The paper is wonderful as it coordinates with multiple stamp bundles. Naturally, the small gift bag needs a coordinating tag. The Timeless Tulips stamp set and the tag die from the Bonanza Dies combine to create a perfect gift tag. Details for creating both are below the project’s photo.
Creating the Tulip Gift Bag:
From the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper, cut the tulip paper 6″ x 8″. Be sure to pay attention to the direction of the tulips.
On the 8″ side score at 2-1/2″, 3-3/4″, 6-1/4″ and 7-1/2″. Rotate 90° (make sure that the tulips are facing toward the right) and score at 1-1/4″.
Fold along score lines and trim along score lines up to the 1-1/4″ score line. Cut and remove the 1/2″ tab. See the photo below – dotted lines are score lines:
Add Tear & Tape Adhesive to the 1/2″ tab, fold over to close the side creating the bag.
Fold in bottom flaps and seal. Be sure the small flaps are folded in first and then overlap with the larger flaps.
Pinch together and use a Mini Library Clip to seal.
For the coordinating tag:
With the tag die from the Bonanza Dies to cut a 2-1/2″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Using the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set, stamp two small tulips with Calypso Coral Classic Stampin’ Pad at the top of the tag. (refer to project photo above for placement) Stamp the large tulip with the same color onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Cut with the coordinating Tulip Builder Punch.
Stamp three stems using Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pad.
Add the large tulip onto the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals, slightly overlap the smaller tulips.
Use the Tulip Builder Punch to cut a leaf from a scrap of the reverse side (green pattern) of the Pleased As Punch designer series paper. Adhere to tag under the large tulip with a mini glue dot.
Stamp the sentiment with the Calypso Coral onto a 3″ x 1-1/4″ piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock. Cut using the shape using the Ornate Frames Dies. Attach to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Tie a knot bow using 6″ of Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon. Complete the tag attaching the bow below the large tulip using a mini glue dot.
What did we put in the gift bag? A wrapped Rice Krispies Treat Bar! It fit perfectly. Be sure to comment below and let me know what you plan to place in your gift bag.
A full list of the project materials is at the bottom of this post. Remember the Coordination Product Release products are only available through the end of this month. So you’ll want to order the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper soon! It’s also while supplies last.

Ready for another another embellished store bought item? While shopping recently, I spied a set of plaid Christmas tree dish towels. Immediately, I thought of the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper (DSP) and how easy it would be to create a coordinating gift tag for the dishtowels. Okay, I know you’re thinking that I must be crazy when shopping to think of things that coordinate with Stampin’ Up! products. Maybe I am just a bit but you have to admit, the dishtowels coordinate perfectly with the Wrapped in Plaid DSP. The Pine Tree Punch and the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set were also used. Save 10% by purchasing the punch and stamp set as a bundle. By creating a Wrapped in Plaid 3-D Gift Tag, the dishtowel has become a simple, inexpensive gift to present during this season of giving.
Steps to make a Wrapped in Plaid 3-D Gift Tag:
Create a tag base using 2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Real Red cardstock. Punch one end with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. Round the corners on the bottom of the tag with the Detailed Trio Punch.
Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 3-1/4″ x 1-3/4″. Use the Detailed Trio Punch, to round the four corners. Stamp HO HO HO from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set onto the bottom section of the Whisper White cardstock panel using Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad. Attach to the tag base using Snail Adhesive. If desired, cut another piece of the Whisper White cardstock to add to the back of the tag and stamp with a To/From stamp.
Use the Pine Tree Punch to cut 3 trees from the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper. TIP: punch two from the “front” side of the paper and one from the “back or reverse” side. By doing this, the trees will align properly. Score down the center of each of the punched pine trees and fold. Attach one side of each of the trees to one another using multipurpose liquid adhesive. Be sure to align the tree branches so they match. After creating the tree, attach to the tag above the HO HO HO. Embellish tree top with a Red Rhinestone. See photos below on how to punch and assemble.
If you are using the tag to embellish a dish towel, tie around towel using the Real Red 1″ Ruched Ribbon. Tie three Jingle Bells together with Whisper White Baker’s Twine and wrap around knot of the ribbon bow.
When shopping, look for some dishtowels to embellish as a quick and easy gift. I found the towel for this project at TJ Maxx and the dishtowel came in a package of two towels.
