Diaper Fold Halloween Treat Holder

Whenever I need a quick and easy treat holder, I like to create a diaper fold treat holder.  It’s the perfect size for holding a small treat.  Best of all, multiples can be created quickly.  Even though we no longer have visits from treat or treaters, I like to give small treats to family and friends.  So, I am am making some diaper fold Halloween Treat Holders using the Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper and the Cutest Halloween Bundle.  Since the designer series paper pack is 6″ x 6″, there is no cutting necessary making the project even easier!  Add a Halloween sentiment, some embellishment, then fill with a treat and it’s done: easy-peasy!  I demonstrate how to make the diaper fold Halloween Treat Holder in the assembly video below.

Autumn Theme Bag Topper

Since transitioning to virtual card classes due to the pandemic, registrants receive a “little something” extra with the kits.  This month, an autumn theme bag topper added to a Mosaic Gusseted Cellophane Bag was perfect for the special treat.  Even better, the bag topper is quick to make using the Celebration Labels Dies.  The dies and Celebration Tidings Stamp Set are available together in the Celebration Tidings Bundle. For an autumn theme, the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Paper is ideal.

Treat Bag with Topper

Bag Topper Tips:

For creating a bag topper, the Celebration Labels Dies offer a range of sizes so you can create toppers for a variety of bag sizes. Just lay a die across the top of the bag to determine the size needed.  After die cutting your designer series paper or cardstock, place the label on your scoring board aligning the notches on the label and score to create the fold line. To seal bag top, use Stampin’ Seal+ on the label and fold across the bag opening. As noted, I used the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper for my project bag toppers.  The designer series paper is perfect for an autumn theme bag topper.

For the autumn theme treat bag, a coordinating gift tag is added to the bag topper.  Cut one end of a 3-1/4″x 3/4″  piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using the Banners Pick A Punch.  Then, stamp the “just for you” from the Celebration Tidings Stamp Set onto the tag using Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad.  Using the Autumn Punch Pack, cut leaves and acorns from the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Add the leaves to the tag with glue dots and use a Stampin’ Dimensional on the acorn.  Next, add a small bow to the gift tag.   To finish, use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the gift tag.

Creating bag toppers using the Celebration Labels Dies is quick and easy!  Adding this special touch to a cellophane bag elevates the simplest treat.  With upcoming holidays, consider ordering the Celebration Tidings Bundles so you can quickly turn a “little something” into “something special”!

Little Treat Box

School’s back in session for my grandson, Alex.  Well, sort of back in session! Currently, all classes are virtual so he’s spending lots of time online.  There’s disappointment that in-person class and meeting new classmates isn’t occurring.  As I did in the Spring, I’m assisting Alex with the new online learning platform while both parents are working.  So, my blog posting schedule is off sync a bit.  Hoping to be back on schedule next week.  To keep Alex’s spirits uplifted, I made a little treat box to give him after one of his online sessions this week.  Using the Little Treats Bundle, the treat box was quick and easy to make.  And it’s the perfect size for a couple of small treats!

treat holder

Additional details:

The Plaid Tidings 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper is cut using the Little Treat Box Dies from the Little Treats Bundle.  After cutting the treat box, fold along the score lines and tuck the tabs into the slits to form the box.  The front and back flaps can be closed by a ribbon tie or if desired, add a small amount of adhesive along the side to adhere to the box.  To embellish the box, cut two leaves using the Stitched Leaves Dies.  For the leaves to coordinate with the plaid designer series paper, Cajun Craze and a Brushed Metallic cardstock were selected.  Next, stamp the sentiment from the Little Treats Stamp Set using Pretty Peacock Classic Stampin’ Pad onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock.  The stitched, scalloped circle in the Little Treats Box Dies is the perfect size for the sentiment.

Making the little treat boxes couldn’t be simpler!  Even better is how quickly the treat boxes are to make.  You’ll want to order the Little Treats Bundle so you’re prepared to make “a little something” treats for all occasions!

Simple Plaid Card

Today, I’m sharing a simple plaid card that requires very little time to create.  Additionally, the color scheme of red, black, white and crumb cake is great  for a masculine theme card.  One thing that makes this card simple is the use of the Adhesive Sheets on the cardstock layers prior to cutting with the Builder Plaid Dies.  Just add an Adhesive Sheet to the back of the cardstock prior to being cut with the dies.  After cutting, you just peel the backing, place the plaid layer atop the other layer and press to attach.  Couldn’t be any easier!  Congrats Plaid Card

This simple plaid card features the black cardstock cut with the open plaid die and the crumb cake cut with the small square plaid die.  The sentiment is from the Many Mates Stamp Set.  Be sure to check out the stamp set, it has some wonderful sentiments and uses a variety of fonts.  Card materials and tips for assembly are below:

Materials:
  • Card Base: Real Red cardstock
  • Layer 1: Basic Black
  • Plaid Layers: Whisper White cardstock – for plaid base, Basic Black cardstock & Crumb Cake cardstock
  • Adhesive Backed Sheets
  • Dies: Best Plaid Builder Dies; Stitched So Sweetly Dies (for sentiment)
  • Stamp Set: Many Mates
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad
  • Embellishments: Basic Rhinestone Jewels (to create a black rhinestone, color the Basic Rhinestone Jewels with Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends)
  • Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer (or other paper cutter)
  • Stampin’ Seal and Stampin’ Dimensionals
Tips:
  • Cut the layers for the plaid the size of the card front (5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″).
  • Layer the black open plaid design onto the Whisper White cardstock layer, press firmly.  Follow with adding the Crumb Cake cardstock layer. Then after adding each of the the plaid layers, use the Paper Trimmer to cut along each side to obtain a 3-3/4″ x 5″ plaid layer.
  • Add the cut plaid layer to the Basic Black Layer using a strong adhesive.

In an earlier post, I shared a stepped up version of this card featuring an additional plaid layer.  You can find the details here.  Of course, it’s time for me to come up with another color scheme to use for a plaid design!

Project Materials:

Quick and Easy Gift Tag

It’s such fun to give small “thinking of you” gifts and the 3″ x 6″ gusseted cellophane bags from Stampin’ Up! are the perfect size for such purpose.  Naturally, the gift bag needs a gift tag and the one on the project below is quick and easy.  This project is perfect for using up scraps of cardstock.  Since we’re celebrating the arrival of Fall soon, leaves in Fall colors are used to embellish the tag.  The Gather Together Bundle includes the Gather Together Stamp Set and the Gathered Leaves Dies.  Can you see the dimension in the leaves?  The dies not only cut but emboss!  Details for creating the tag are listed below the project photo.

Treat Bag with Fall Leaves Tag

Card Details:
  • To create tag base, cut a 1-1/2″ x 3″ piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  On one end of the cardstock, use the Delightful Tag Topper Punch to create the tag.  Use the corner rounder section on the Detailed Trio Punch to round the edges on the opposite end of the tag.
  • On the tag, stamp the large leaf from the Gather Together Stamp Set using Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin’ Pad.
  • Next, use the three leaves dies to cut a leaves from scraps of Merry Merlot, Pretty Peacock and Cajun Craze cardstock.  One leaf in each color was cut.  TIP: By first lightly spritzing the cardstock with water and then cutting with the dies.   The embossed impression is much deeper.  Plus when the cardstock dries, the edges of the leaves curl just as Fall leaves curl.
  • While the leaves are drying, stamp the sentiment from the Parcels and Petals Stamp Set (in the Annual Catalog) onto the tag using Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad.
  • Once the cut leaves are dry, sponge Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink onto each leaf.  Layer the leaves onto the tag below the sentiment using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • After adding your treats to the 3″ x 6″ cellophane bag, fold top over approximately 3/4″ and secure with a staple.  Fold 3″ x 2″ piece of Come to Gather Designer Series Paper in half and secure to the bag by using Snail Adhesive on each side of fold.  (you are sandwiching the bag top inside the Designer Series Paper)
  • Finish by adding the gift tag to the bag with Mini Stampin Dimensionals and add a Cajun Craze Linen Thread bow using a mini glue dot.
