Oh my, I created this post last week and forgot to post it! So instead of Christmas in July project two, I’m sharing Christmas in July 2024 Project One. Project two will post next Tuesday with project three on the schedule for next Friday.
It’s Christmas in July! Project one is a holiday card featuring the new Filled with Cheer Stamp Set. The stamp set is a new Online Exclusive product from Stampin’ Up! The snowman, sled and Christmas tree are perfect for sending holiday greetings. These images along with images of gifts and poinsettias are perfect to color using a variety of coloring tools. Basic White Thick: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score/fold at 4 1/4″ for card base; 2 3/4″ x 4″ for die cut

This month the theme for card classes is Thinking of Christmas. Four cards featuring holiday theme were created using a different bundle. The Joy of Noel is one of the featured bundles. With the bundle and the Joyful Specialty Designer Series Paper, creating an elegant card is easy! The dies do the majority of the work and the designer series paper provides a gorgeous background. For the Joy of Noel Holiday card, stamping is minimal. Just stamp the word, Noel, and die cut with the coordinating dies to create the card front focal point. If you wanted, the letters could be die cut from another designer paper or cardstock making it even simpler.

Cherry Cobbler Cardstock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score at 4-1/4″ for card base; 4″ x 4-1/4″ for die cut

This cute Elf Christmas Gift Tag uses the Delicate Baubles Dies. The idea for creating an elf using the dies is from Connie Babbert at www.inkspiredtreasures.com. She has an array of cards using the dies for holiday characters. When I saw the elf on the card she created, I knew it would make a cute gift tag. Looking for a quick but elegant holiday card? This warm Christmas wishes holiday card is the one to make. Using the Encircled in Beauty die to cut a frame for the embossed sentiment turns a simple card into an elegant card. Note the background designer series paper – it’s not from a holiday theme package but from the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. It provides the perfect background for the Cherry Cobbler die cut frame. TIP: To ensure the sentiment stands out on the card, first stamp in desired ink color. Then, stamp over the image with Versamark and emboss with clear embossing powder. Using the Stamparatus ensures perfect stamping!

It’s always fun to find alternate folds to use for card designs. Today’s design is a side fold shared by Patty Bennett during a team stamping event. So, I added the fold to my “must create” fun fold list. Using the So Many Snowflake Dies, multiple snowflakes are cut and layered to embellish the Snowflake Side Fold Card. The Winter Snow Embossing Folder creates the perfect background for the layered snowflakes.
Materials:
Snowflake Wishes Bundle
Balmy Blue cardstock: card base: 4-1/4” x 11”, score at 5-1/2” & 6-3/4”; scraps for cutting snowflakes
Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper: 1” x 4”
Whisper White cardstock: 4” x 4” (2 pieces – for front & interior)’ 1” x 3-1/2” for sentiment
Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper – for large, medium & small snowflake
Winter Snow Embossing Folder
Misty Moonlight Classic Ink Pad
Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems
Snowflake Splendor ¼” ribbon

Optional: Tag Punch to cut notch for ribbon
Directions for Assembly:
Fold Balmy Blue card base along fold lines. Use adhesive to seal the card front to the card back in the area between the score lines (5-1/2” to 6-3/4”).
Add the strip of designer series paper to the card front (sealed section).
Texture emboss one of the 4” x 4” Whisper White cardstock pieces. Attach to the card front.
Snowflakes: use the snowflake dies to cut a large, medium and small snowflake from the Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper and the Balmy Blue cardstock. After die cutting snowflakes, layer the cardstock pieces atop the glimmer paper pieces attaching with glue dots.
Stamp sentiment onto strip of Whisper White cardstock using the Misty Moonlight Classic Ink Pad.
Position snowflakes to the card front and attach using glue dots.
Add sentiment strip using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Embellish the center of each snowflake with a Blue Adhesive-Backed Gem.
Finish the card by wrapping a ribbon around the left side of card, overlapping ends on front of the card. Tie a small bow using the ribbon and attaching where the ribbon overlaps on the card front. TIP: to hold ribbon in place, use tag punch (or another punch) to cut a small notch wide enough to create a track for the ribbon
