So you ask, “What is Monday Mishmash?” It’s a weekly post that will highlight a different product or technique. There will be a variety of offerings – one week, a card using traditional products, another week may be a card designed using My Digital Studio (MDS2), or it could be a combination of both traditional and digitally designed products. On other occasions, a paper crafted project may be highlighted or a technique may be shared. In other words – it’s going to be a “mishmash” from one week to the next depending upon whatever creative mood strikes!
So for this first “Monday Mishmash”, I’m presenting an Easter card created entirely using MDS2 from Stampin’ Up!. With the weekend’s cold, wet weather I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon experimenting with the MDS2 program and with Easter coming, I wanted a simple but playful card design for my grandson. It was fun experimenting with different layouts, papers and embellishments. I finally decided on a tri-fold card to stand at his plate with other goodies on Easter morning. The “Celebrate Easter” Designer Series download was perfect for the theme and the Delightful Dozen digital stamp fit the simplistic design. After designing the card, it was easy to print using my computer printer.
Below is the final product…

- First is the launch of Paper Pumpkin by Stampin’ Up!, a new monthly kit program that everyone will enjoy! The initial kit has been mailed this week…but don’t fret, it’s never too late to join!
Each month a unique, surprise kit with project-cards, journals, décor, and more will be sent to you! The kit includes stamps, ink, paper, and accessories-everything but adhesive. There’s no commitment and you can cancel your monthly Paper Pumpkin at anytime. You can also skip a month if you want.
When you join, you will be asked if you have a demonstrator. Please list me as your demonstrator.
Thank you!
- The next item for Creation Thursday is the “to my friend” card. The Swallowtail technique is described in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog on page 19. I immediately fell in love with the look and knew that it would make a great sample for my card class. Though it is not clearly shown in the photo, the butterfly has shimmer paint applied which gives it a nice sheen.
