Hope your week is off to a good start! It was monthly card class day and in this posting, I’ve decided to share from today’s “Butterflies are Free” card workshop and what a wonderful afternoon it was! In the class, participants made four cards and embellished a box for storing the cards. Floral District Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! provided the color palette for the cards. The box was cut using the Silhouette Cameo and white card stock. Samples were available so that everyone would have a design they could follow or they could be adventuresome. The creative juices were really flowing and though everyone had the same base, each added their own flair to the cards and boxes creating a unique set. It was a lot of fun and all the card sets were beautiful. I was having so much fun watching and assisting that I forgot to take photos of all the sets but a “great big thanks” to a couple of the ladies who responded to my request for photos. They are shared below.

Don’t you think the cards turned out beautiful?!
Below is a collage of the samples provided for the class. Individual photos of samples can be found under the Projects tab at the top of the page.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Stay tuned for updates on products that will be retiring from Stampin’ Up! Information will be available later this week and I’ll be posting it once it’s received! You’ll want to nab your favorite items before their gone!!!
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check in again this week for “Creation Thursday”.
Until then, have a good week!

Today the weather was beautiful so I took advantage and spent the afternoon outdoors. Despite the bizarre Spring weather much of the country has experienced the last few weeks, I actually saw the first butterfly of the season. It reminded me of next week’s “Butterflies are Free” card class so for “Creation Thursday” one of the card samples is being shared. The card is one of four differently designed butterfly cards that will be made by participants. To coordinate the cards, Stampin’ Up! Floral District Designer Series Paper is used on each of the cards. The “friend to friend” butterfly card has multiple layers to add dimension and interest. Hopefully, you’re enjoying beautiful weather and will soon see a butterfly too!

Happy Monday! It’s Monday Mishmash and we’re celebrating “Blue Monday” but not a sad, blue day. Instead, I have prepared a card using blue card stock! While looking at different card designs, I saw a monochromatic card prepared in a deep tan and embossed with a contrasting color. The monochromatic look was beautiful and I decided to use one of my favorite colors in the Brights Collection – Tempting Turquoise, to prepare a similar monochromatic look. The white embossing “pops” against the blue background and creates a bright, cheerful look. It was a quick, simple card that is classic in design. As an added touch, the white card liner was stamped with the Tempting Turquoise Classic Stampin’ ink pad.
Materials and Tools:
Tempting Turquoise Card Stock
Whisper White Card Stock
White Stampin’ Emboss Powder
VersaMark Ink
Secret Garden Stamp Set
Papillion Potpourri Stamp Set
Curly Cute Stamp Set
Elegant Butterfly Punch
Bitty Butterfly Punch
3/16″ Corner Punch
Tempting Turquoise Classic stampin’ pad
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Stampin’ Sponge
Heat Tool
Stampin’ Trimmer
Bone Folder
After the flower design was embossed, Tempting Turquoise ink was sponged onto the center of the flower to add color depth. Each butterfly was stamped onto scrap Whisper White CS and cut using the appropriate punch. Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to attach the butterflies to the card.
