The new design case for the Stampin’ Up! Classic Ink Pads is innovative and a long time coming. Have you ordered any new stamp pads from the new catalog? If you have, I hope you have found the new design as impressive as I have. I think they are a bit easier to open as they have less steps. They will have a bit of a tighter fit at first. This will loosen a bit with use. New things always take a bit of breaking them in. Have you also noticed the larger color swatch on the case? If you have not purchased the new design stamp pads yet, please take a look below. Cheryl and John from Stampin’ Up! Product Development have a video below to give you a look at these new stamp pads and help with some tips and tricks.
New Design Case in Action
Also, I love that it’s still very easy to use the lid for watercolor techniques. Because of the bolder look, the colors are so easy to identify. Another great feature are the stickers. They give you options as well which is great because not everyone stores or handles their stamp cases the same way. Lastly, how great is it that they are stackable now? Stacking the cases is a benefit I know I am going to enjoy. After I pull out all my supplies to work with, it will be great to have my pads stackable and neat in my crafting space.
I know it will help some of you to see how they open and close. I’m a pretty visual person and enjoy videos like this. I remember when we moved away from the basic open and close stamp pads years ago. As with anything new, it did take a little getting used to. This time will be no different, so join me in embracing the new design case.
Do you feel like it’s too difficult to learn calligraphy? Stampin’ Up! may have the answer. Each year they take great care in creating their project kits throughout the year. Today I would like to introduce you to the Calligraphy Essentials Project Kit. It has such soft colors and designs. I have to admit, I love calligraphy so I was so excited when I saw this particular kit in the new annual catalog. There is a coordinating stamp set, but more on that later.
Each kit is always unique and this one is no different. Create beautiful hand-lettered cards while you learn calligraphy. The kit makes 16 cards, 4 each of 4 designs. It includes printed card bases and printed envelopes (which is my favorite thing about the kits). You get 8 sheets of labels, calligraphy practice sheets and adhesive-backed sequins. Everything you need tucked all in one package. The colors coordinate with some of your favorites and even some new colors – Coastal Cabana, Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick, Pear Pizzazz. In addition to the Essentials Kit, you can purchase the Calligraphy Essentials Clear-Mount Stamp Set (seen above) that coordinates with the kit. Also, together they make the complete Calligraphy Essentials collection.
If you are like me, you want to see it in action. Well I can help with that too. Take a look at the video Stampin’ Up! put together which let’s you see the kit up close. In addition, you can follow Shannon as she uses the products and helps guide you on how to use them.
When you are done practicing with the kit, you will be able to create beautiful calligraphy of your own. Finally, you can be proud when you finish all the practices sheets. Maybe even feel like a calligraphy expert. LOL
Stampin’ Up! offers an array of coloring tools designed to help color all your paper crafting projects. I thought I would take a minute and outline some of the different options and how they work. I know you may think coloring is coloring, but that’s simply not the case. It really does make a difference because color technique can change the look of a project.
Coloring Tools Make a Difference
Stampin’ Up!’s coloring options all have a specific purpose and function. So let me share some of them with you. First up are the Aqua Painters. They are a watercoloring tool that allows you to use water without dipping. The Aqua Painter is designed to hold liquid in the tube base to make watercoloring easy. Give it a squeeze and the water is released. Add color with our Watercolor Pencils or any Stampin’ Up! Classic pads. Touch the brush to the ink and then transfer the ink to your image on the paper. It’s advised to use watercolor paper for your project.
Watercolor Pencils are our high-quality, smooth color pencils. Perfect for watercoloring stamped images. You can use these alone, with our Blender Pens or the Aqua Painter. All you have to do is color your image and then bring in the Aqua Painter or Blender Pen if you are going for a watercolor look. There are 13 pencils in various Stampin’ Up! colors
Blender Pens combine the flexibility of watercolors with the convenience of markers. Blender Pends are dual-tipped pens filled with specialized solution to blend ink easily. It is also recommended to use Watercolor Paper or Shimmery White Cardstock and Classic Stampin’ Ink or our Watercolor Pencils. Remember to clean off the tip after each use.
Finish using the color and simply stroke the tip on scrap paper to remove color. You can then move on to the next color without worry. Our Blender Pens give a different look to the finish product than Aqua Painters.
Our Stampin’ Write Markers allow you to really expand your ink selection. These artist-quality markers come in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors, grouped in collections to take the guesswork out of product coordination. Flexible brush tip and fine tip in one marker. Color on paper, or color directly on a stamp for a multicolor effect.
The markers are fast drying, dye-based ink. Our markers are acid free and coordinate with Stampin’ Up! cardstock, ink and embellishments. You can get cartstock and coordinating marker in all Stampin’ Up! colors. Coloring is smooth and bold with these markers.
Lastly, I want to list our Stampin’ Blends. Our newest to the coloring tools, the Stampin’ Blends are high-quality, alcohol-based, dual-tip markers come in 12 exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors. Each color comes in 2 shades to give you the best blending experience out there. There is a light color and a darker color with each set.
Controlling the color is easy when you can use either the brush tip or the fine-point. Purchase them by individual colors or combo packs. The Blends are not refillable, however, you can purchase the individual color when you need to replace them in your collection.
I hope you have learned a little more about some of our coloring options. Please contact me with any questions on these or any of our Stampin’ Up! products.
As with every new catalog, comes new card packs. There are new Memories & More card packs in 2018-2019 annual catalog. The best part about these new card packs is that they have been redesigned to support card making a little more. Although they are designed for scrapbooking, it’s nice that they coordinate with some of our suites. I do appreciate the Memories & More line because it makes memory keeping so much easier. Since so many people either don’t have time to scrapbook or don’t know how, it’s great to have something that supports scrapbooking and helps guide even the novice scrapbooker.
What Can You Do With Memories & More
These kits are the perfect way to create cards, tags, scrapbooking and anything you can think of using your adhesive. There are envelopes, stickers and a variety of cardstock sizes of paper to all coordinate with our suites. When you add a few of your own embellishments or accents, the possibilities are endless. There are a few different card packs to choose from and each one coordinates with a suite. Each suite has a number of products that also coordinate. All of these products make it so much fun for any level crafter to have fun with. They also make it easy to do projects with children and groups.
Stampin’ Up! put together this new video to give you an idea about what is new with the Memories and More line as well as show us some samples from the card packs. Take a look as Tanner walks us through it:
You don’t have to be a scrapbooker to make use of any of these card packs. Think outside the box. You can check out all the Memories and More products in my store. Use them for scrapbooking, cardmaking, tags, or anything you can think of. If you need any assistance with these products, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I’m happy to help.
The Graceful Glass Suite is just one of the new suites in the 2018-2019 annual catalog. The suite is featured on pages 164 and 165 of the new annual catalog. As with any suite, you have a bunch of products that make up the complete suite. Included is a stamp set, the stained glass framelit dies, the Graceful Glass Designer Vellum which I might add is perfect for coloring with your Stampin’ Blends, However, you can use other coloring options as well. You also get Tinted Faceted Buttons and some black cord.
Graceful Glass: All That’s Included
Below is a video from Stampin’ Up! that puts all the products from this suite in front of you. There are even some card samples and coloring techniques you can use when creating projects with this suite.
I hope you have been inspired and will enjoy this suite as much as I do and I look forward to sharing projects and cards with you created using this suite. The beginning of the Stampin’ Up! year is always an exciting one.
